CONCEPT
Environmentally Responsive | User Responsive
The floor to floor rotation exposes skylights, maximizing the natural daylight penetrating the space.
The catalyst to this motion is either solar – a conceptual model of a building dynamically responding to seasonal changes – or client/designer driven. The dynamo script can be used either to explore a theoretical kinetic system that responds to the climate to save energy.
Alternatively, it can offer the user the ability to quickly make iterations in order to envision and perform analysis on different configurations.
The floor plate is composed of three eccentric circles, built in relationship to a hexagon. In previous iterations, this floor plate could also adjust per user demands or automatically.
FLOOR PLATE
FAÇADE COMPONENT
The pattern stretching along the exterior of the building is a parametric family of shading device planters. These extrusions are intended to both offer some shade to the window below as well as capture rain. The water is then diverted along the façade, channeling from one section to the next.
